Transport safety
ZAT a.s. implemented its landslide detection system on the railway line Mosty u Jablunkova. The system ensures continuous monitoring of the risky slope, whose instability in the past caused disturbances in the geometric position of the track. The solution brings the Railway Administration not only savings in terms of personnel capacity and costs, but also increases the safety of railway operation.
Technology and implementation benefits
ZAT's new landslide detection system uses wireless sensors with high battery life and minimal maintenance. The project deployed 50 sensors that monitor the slope 24/7 and automatically send alert notifications when movement is detected. The data is visualized in real time, allowing for a timely response to potential threats.
Main benefits:
- Continuous monitoring without the need for physical checks.
- Immediate warning when slope movement is detected.
- Maintenance-free and mobility - possibility of moving to another location.
- Low running costs and long battery life.

Customer's feedback
„The indisputable and for us the greatest advantage is the continuous monitoring of the condition of the risky slope, which ensures the safety of railway operation. Another benefit is the reduction in the need for physical inspections, which would have meant not only higher costs but also busier staff. In addition, we have all the data stored on the Railway Administration's servers and use the SimONet platform to display it.“
